Rout, Then Seal

Routing isn't an extra step — it's the step that makes crack sealing work. Industry studies show a routed, sealed crack delivers roughly twice the sealant service life of an unrouted one, because the routed reservoir gives sealant clean walls to bond to and room to flex with the pavement.

A cleaner reservoir means better adhesion, and better adhesion means fewer re-seals. Dark Matter blades cut that reservoir smoother than carbide — with less edge spalling for the sealant to fail against.
